Lottery Process for the 2027-2028 School Year:
The Natick Preschool conducts an annual lottery to ensure equitable access to our program, as space is limited and demand is high. The online registration period for the lottery for the 2027-2028 school year will open in October and close in December, prior to the winter break (please see information on the website for current dates). Registrations submitted outside of this window cannot be accepted.
To be eligible for the lottery, families must be current residents of Natick, and children must be three years of age on or before August 31 of the school year in which they will attend. During the registration process, families are asked to select up to three (ordered) choices for program option for their child. We encourage parents and guardians to review program days and options carefully prior to registering, to ensure that days and times can work for your family. Families will also be asked to provide their child’s full legal name and date of birth, street address, and contact information for at least one parent or guardian. Only one registration may be submitted per child; duplicate registrations will be discarded by the system. Incomplete or inaccurate registrations will result in forfeiture of eligibility.
The lottery drawing will take place in early January (dates for the current year noted on the website). Families of students selected for placement will receive written notification by email, along with instructions to complete the enrollment process. Failure to complete enrollment within the stated timeline will result in forfeiture of the placement. In addition to the children selected for enrollment, the lottery will generate a numbered waitlist of the remaining applicants, drawn and numbered in order. The waitlist will be accessed if a family declines, moves, or otherwise forfeits their placement.
Applications for children not selected in the lottery will remain on file for the remainder of the school year (numbered waitlist). Should additional spaces become available after the waitlist is exhausted, availability will be publicly advertised and openings will be filled through a rolling admissions process. Because of the limited number of placements, families are strongly encouraged to consider alternate preschool options should their child not be selected through the lottery.
Tuition Payments:
Natick Preschool is a tuition based program for community peers. Tuition payments are divided into 10 monthly installments. The deposit is applied to the last payment of the school year on June 1st. The second tuition payment is due on September 1 and the remaining 8 payments will be due monthly on the first day of the month, beginning October 1, 2026 and ending May 1, 2027.
Financial Aid:
No child will be excluded from any programs due to financial hardship. We follow a sliding scale fee set forth by the Natick Public School’s business office. If you believe that you may qualify for financial assistance, please reach out to April Davenport by the stated deadline for more information and to secure your position in the program.
For Currently Enrolled Students:
If your child already attends the preschool program, their current placement will automatically be guaranteed for the next school year. If a returning family would like to opt for a different program placement for their child for the next school year, they must submit their child's name in the lottery.
